Is there anyone but me who thinks that xmms not sorting files in directories is annoying?
I might have a patch if someone is willing to try. |

you can sort the files in XMMS...
in the playlist window, click the button 'Misc' in the bottom right, then select "Sort by Filename" or whatever criteria you want to sort by |

ok, let me be a little more specific...
I use KDE and Konqueror and think it's great! All my music is organized in folders, Artist - Album, with files, 01 - Track 1.ogg|mp3, 02 - Track 2.ogg|mp3, and so on. If I want to play an album i right-click on a directory and select xmms. Now xmms starts playing this album (which is the desired behaviour) but in the wrong order!
(edit)
The playlist -> Add Directory does the same thing for me
I don't know if anyone else has a problem with this, just thought I should ask. |

I have the same problem also with mp3s without ID3 tags or with XMMS configured to ignore them.
Annoying, but I solved the problem creating playlists. _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |

I'm not sure if i follow, but you want the files to sort on filename as you load them? Most of my songs have a filename like so:
Code: | 01. Artist - Song Title.ogg |
but when the ID3 tags aren't set up right i use the "misc->sort list->sort by filename" option, which puts the album in the right order. It's an extra click when you load up, but shouldn't be that much trouble.
