the detection is right, i checked all with the hardware the tuner from eprom is also correct (FMD1216MEX)

i've tried to tune with tvtime but nothing. even if i send a video on svhs in i see only blue

cat /dev/video1 > test.mpg dosen't work only freezes the prozesss and creates a 0 byte file

Ok the tuner problem i've found a way
i only patched the linux/drivers/media/video/tveeprom.c
the line
Code:
{ TUNER_ABSENT,        "Philips FMD1216MEX"},

to
Code:
{ TUNER_PHILIPS_FMD1216ME_MK3, "Philips FMD1216MEX"},

now when i am trying to tune there are no tuner errors ...
Code:
tveeprom 3-0050: tuner model is Philips FMD1216MEX (idx 133, type 63)
tuner' 3-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (cx88[0])
tuner-simple 3-0061: type set to 63 (Philips FMD1216ME MK3 Hybrid Tuner)
tuner' 3-0063: chip found @ 0xc6 (cx88[0])

This hint i got here -> original

But i have allwas blue screen on tvtime and see nothing :( just like before

I tryed a little bit ... looks like then blackbird doesn't work. if i send a signal to the svhs input i could see it with tvtime on /dev/video0
but tuner doesn't work and i found nothing yet with mpeg decoder...

try kernel 2.6.20. I get much more scanning results in 2.6.20 than in 2.6.23.

Switch back to an old kernel is no way for me, and the drivers i use are not from the kernel so it makes no difference.

at the moment i'll try to get the mpeg encoder working. some days ago it gives me a noise back but after hdd crash and new install i got nothing it freezes the shell (cat/dev/video1 > test.mpg)
