I was trying to install gnome-light and one of dependencies was gnome-menus and i can't emerge it

Code:

checking for GLIB... yes
checking for inotify_init... no
configure: error: No inotify syscalls in libc found - cannot enable inotify support

What do you think is the problem? What would you say is the keyword in the above message that indicates where the problem is? Have you searched the forums yet for this problem?
