Please tell me I'm overlooking something simple, here....
I'm trying to install a USB headset device to alsa via the snd-usb-audio interface. I've successfully made the proper sound/usb modules and emerged the alsa driver for intel8x0 (my primary card) and usb-audio. I've modified and saved the /etc/modules.conf file (as per the alsa docs), and can reopen the file to verify my changes are in place. However, when I perform a modules-update, the modules.conf file reverts to the previous version . I've tried to cp the modified version to the modules.conf.old and removing the modules.conf.old alltogether, but there's no difference--the file is reverted anyways. I can't even put a comment or whitespace in the file without it being reverted. I know I modified this file when I set up alsa for the intel8x0 card, and alsa works fine for it. What's the deal? I've been banging away at this for hours, and my eyes hurt from reading...please help. |

DOH!
Funny how the mind operates at 5am...geez, I'd done it right like ten times before this.
Thanks for getting me back on course; sometimes it takes doing it the wrong way to really appreciate doing it right! |
