well i use 2.5.xx and eveything works fine... but nvidia drivers seems a little slow.
I have to use on
Code: |
/etc/X11/XF86Config
options "NvAGP" "1" or "0"
|
and when i play some games this options turned my system slow.
i cant use the default nvidia value "3" because it crashes my X
any ideia about this ? _________________ ex: Gentoo Linux Developer: amd64 media-optical sound gnome

I personally use "NvAgp = 2" and I have apggart compiled directly into my kernel. I have used this with 2.5.x and 2.4.x and have had very few problems.
Perhaps give that a try, it does seem to be alot more stable than something like th nvagp option...
Just my 0.02c worth...

agpgart is good. compile it into the kernel (not as a module) and it should work. Works fine here.
Code: | ( floam ~ ) uname -r
2.5.72-mm2
( floam ~ ) cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Enabled
Driver: AGPGART
AGP Rate: 4x
Fast Writes: Enabled
SBA: Enabled |
