Hi.
I've upgraded Seamonkey to version 1.1.6 and now it doesn't start anymore. If I run it from the command line I get a message saying
Code: | seamonkey-bin exited with non-zero status (1) |
Googleing the Internet brings me only 4 unanswered messages about the same issue. Does anyone have an idea? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Did you use Code: | emerge -av seamonkey | to install the browser?
I have seen, that you have installed seamonkey-bin.
emerge --info? |

Sure, I have installed seamonkey using emerge seamonkey. I don't know why it reports seamonkey-bin. Never struck me at once since I focused more on why it doesn't start . What puzzles me is that the previous version [EDIT](1.1.5)[/EDIT] did work on the same PC. (I guess what you're going to say...) _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... It says seamonkey-bin because that is the name of the actual program image that runs to provide the browser. The command seamonkey is a wrapper script that sets up all the environment necessary to get a Mozilla product to find its libraries. It is an unfortunate coincidence that there happen to exist Gentoo packages named www-client/seamonkey and www-client/seamonkey-bin. The former builds Seamonkey from source. The latter is a prebuilt copy of Seamonkey. |

Ok, the name is explained... But has anyone got the problem? Apart from re-merging version 1.1.5, what else can be done? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Not yet. I'll try re-merging version 1.1.6. Andd if it doesn't work, I'll go for a downgrade. I'll post as soon as I have some results. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
