Hey!

I'm building a gentoo domU with a Xen VPS provider that runs an Ubuntu dom0 on amd64.

Previously, on dedicated boxes, I've used a hardened profile/toolchain/kernel, but I'm wondering whether or not a hardened toolchain depends on a hardened kernel (which I don't have with this VPS, given that the dom0 kernel is from Ubuntu).

So is a hardened profile in this situation workable, or should I just stick with a normal 2007.0 profile? Or do I have this virtualisation thing completely backwards (which is always a possibility!) :-)

Thanks!

Jason
