gentoo on arm9 embedded system

hello out there!

i'd like to intstall gentoo on an embedded system using an arm9 processor but i'm not quiet shure how to do so. i emerged crossdev and built a toolchain for the arm. i compiled a few programs with this toolchain and they are running perfectly on this system. for now we are using another linux distribution (i don't know exactly which one because i didn't build it.)

i googled, read the gentoo wiki and palyed around but without success. so where i'm stuck right now is how to start with the installation of a gentoo system using only cross compilation and without an initial stage tarball. is that possible? is there documentation about how to build such a system from scratch?
