I am trying to install Gentoo but can not get my NIC to work. I tried all the steps in the installation manual and still no luck. I have a ADMTEK ADM 983 Linksys Etherfast 10/100 which worked in Mandrake using the tulip module. When I perform "ifconfig" I get:

When booting the LiveCD it detects the NIC and starts DHCP.
My ISP does not require a host name and I am using a Linksys Cable Router. As you can tell I'm a newbie to Gentoo.

After numerous tries to get networking resolved I tried the Live CD on my main computer (P4) and everything worked without a hitch. I had DHCP, ifconfig showed everything, and I was able to ping
Seems to be a hardware issue on the previous computer
