|
|
Hi,
When I open up the places menu from the GNOME panel, I click on 'Home' and my home folder opens in Konqueror.
If I un-merge Konqueror, I get this message:
Quote: | Could not open location 'file:///home/dave'
There was an error launching the default action command associated with this location. |
The same happens when I click either the desktop option or any of my bookmarks. However, if I click on the other options in that menu, it opens the relevant option in Nautilus.
I can't think of what I could've done to change the app that opens my home folder, nor do I know how to change it back.
As far as I can remember, all I've done recently is upgrade to GNOME 2.20.1 from 2.18.3.
Any advice would be great,
Thanks, Dave. |

I thought I'd bump this to see if anyone has any ideas yet.
Not only do I hate things not being right in the first place but it's also really annoying to keep having to go down to Computer and navigate to the home to open up my home folder .
Cheers,
Dave. |

I'd like to bump this, too.
On my system it starts emacs when I go to "places" or "desktop"
(and don't say, that's a feature . I like emacs but not if I want nautilus)
I searched gconf but did not find anything.

OK, I found it!
I somehow changed the default program to open folders.
To reset this:
Open nautilus via command line or the places/Computer menu
right click on a folder (doesn't matter wich one)
select preferences
select openwith
change from whatever there is to "open folder"
close everything. |

Cool yeah thanks. I found this out elsewhere but forgot to post it here lol.
Thanks for bumping and reminding me, even if it did take me ages to come back and post this! |
