Ok, so the latest stable version of net-wireless/ipw3945 in portage is 1.2.0 (though 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 are available as keyworded packages). I have been occasionally getting kernel oopses from this driver, and was beginning to think it was a hardware issue, but some googling caused me to discover that this was actually a bug that was fixed in 1.2.1 back in April of this year. My question is, if such a serious bug exists in portage's latest stable version, why hasn't it been updated since then? It's been months since this bug was discovered and fixed, and I'm surprised that at least 1.2.1 hasn't been made the latest stable package since then.

Is there somewhere where I can file this issue to bring it to the developer's attention (if it's an appropriate thing to do)? I'm not trying to sound obnoxious; I just want to make sure it's brought to the attention of the developers so they can work on getting the latest drivers un-"keyworded."

For now, I've just added 1.2.2 to /etc/portage/package.keywords and all is well for me :)

Thanks :)

File a bug.
