I think this is less about that one post and more about cokey bugging me constantly since his last un-banning. Still, I wouldn't have banned him - at least yet

I sometimes do things really stupidly BUT I aint stupid. I say mis-use of powers and the mod/admin has a person grudge against cokehabit. I mean worse things have been posted with no big THWONK of the ban-stick

I don't know if anyone has a grudge with cokey or not. If I were a Mod, I probably would have let that pass with a possible warning. Like I said before, cokey is fun to have around. I hope it isn't permanent.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that I was banned for what I said.
In the history of the Gentoo forums no-one has been banned for such a little thing. It is an unacceptable abuse of power and is just nixnut's way of giving me a personal attack.
If you banned everyone for something as small as that then you would ban 50% of the users.

Though cokey sure was heading for a ban down this road, I don't think he was there quite yet.

Well, people have been banned for posting a sequence of 16 8-bit numbers, so...
But I agree, banning should be done only in extreme cases - this was not one. There are too many people here wanting to restrict what can be said and where. OS projects should encourage openness in communication too.
