|
|
I want to create a LiveCD for Gentoo-FreeBSD. I'm using a standard /boot directory and boot0 for it. I've created a .img file from the root that I want to use. I create ISOs using mkisofs and use cdboot in /boot as the bootloader. However, I have not gotten a single ISO that I've generated to work. They all get stuck at loading the acpi module or after the FreeBSD menu, if acpi is disabled. I suspect that it can't mount the .img to use as the root.
So, how can I configure the bootloader to mount the .img and proceed with the boot?
The structure of the CD is currently:
/boot
livecd_root.img (ufs applied) _________________ BSD > SysV > Linux

Actually, I'm not burning. I'm creating an iso in my Gentoo-FreeBSD virtual machine in qemu+kvm using mkisofs. Then, I just use scp and ssh to bring it back to the host, and then I test it in qemu. _________________ BSD > SysV > Linux

I had some problems with FreeSBIE. Try using RW media to burn the iso on it and boot it. Sometimes emulation is not so perfect. It happened to me. |

Try qemu without kvm. I saw kvm fail in different cases where pure qemu did the job. |
