Hi all,
I've been looking for a tool for ripping CDs to single flac/cue format without luck.
Based on Aysen's exact CD backup script, I added the multilingual support (mlcue.py) while handling the cddb text - it becomes this small tool: flack (flac back up :p ).
How to use it
1. Simply download the flack.tar.bz2, extract two files (flack, mlcue.py) to one of you dir which is listed in $PATH (for example, ~/bin/)
2. Make sure you have cdrdao, cuetools (cueconvert will be used), and chardet installed
3. Insert your CD
4. $ flack
That's it!
flack will do the following things for you:
1. do an exact copy of your CD to a bin file, fetch cddb text and generated the toc file
2. convert the toc to a cue
3. convert the bin to a flac
4. mlcue.py detects the cue file's text encoding, properly re-encode the content to utf-8
5. renames the cue/flac file to this format "$performer-$album.flac/cue"
6. clean up the bin/toc files
I've test this script with 7 (Simplified/Traditional)Chinese/English CDs, it works as expected
However, I don't have CDs in other languages to test, please help me to try if it works for you in different languages
Now I can enjoy my flac/cue in audacious!
Hope this script is useful to you, and let me know if you have any problem! _________________ - http://nkbit.com
