Lazy me don't want to learn all about iptables so have installed guarddog to write the rules. Also installed the program 'iptables' which starts nicely upon boot but can't find the rules set up by guarddog.
My workaround was to include /etc/rc.firewall in /etc/conf.d/local.start but this seems a bit unsatisfactory. It did take a bit of detective work to figure it out, so this post is partly here to help any searchers.
Is there a smoother way to get the dog's rules used by iptables? Do I even need to have iptables installed when guarddog is in charge?
Any ideas or enlightenment would be appreciated |
