I have read about webapp-config
I do not run a virtual hosting environment yet.
I have 1 domain name.
I am trying to install ledgersmb and egroupware on 1 server at 1 domain.

It seems webapp-config is run by the ebuilds that install egroupware and ledgersmb.
If I am not running multipal domain names do I need webapp-config?
It seems like it is designed to make things easy but it does not seem to do what it is suposed to do.
ledgersmb ends in error and after emerging egroupware localhost/egroupware just lists a index.
webapp-config did not change the owner to apache or the permissions.
I subscribed to the mailing list but there is no activity. So is it still in development?
Debian has something that prompts you along for installing webapps is that the goal of webapp-config?
Thanks

I would use webapp-config if I was running a single domain name. Using webapp-config would be an easy way to keep my webapps uptodate using Portage.
But I can't get how to deal with multiple domains and users, using webapp-config (multiple domains, multiple users with their own ~/public_html web space, etc). So I just stopped trying to use webapp-config for now, and do most of my stuff the old way.

Still I feel like I missed the way to use it. For what I know, webapps-config is known to work fine and I'm just not using it correctly. I will probably build a test box someday to play around with.

About using vhosts for a single domain: I like to have /etc/apache2/httpd.conf for the generic Apache setup, and my domain's specific setup in its own configuration file. That's why I would definitively use the vhosts feature, even if I was running a single domain.
