I added the following lines to my /etc/conf.d/local.start to make my boot splash screen work:
Code: |
/bin/splash -s -u 1 /usr/share/splash/bootsplash.cfg
/bin/splash -s -u 2 /usr/share/splash/bootsplash.cfg
/bin/splash -s -u 3 /usr/share/splash/bootsplash.cfg
/bin/splash -s -u 4 /usr/share/splash/bootsplash.cfg
/bin/splash -s -u 5 /usr/share/splash/bootsplash.cfg

when I do 'dmesg' to see whats wrong, I get the following errors in my log:
Code: |
Looking for splash picture....<6>error 12 while decompressing picture.

UPDATE:
emerged jpged support. Still cant decompress. I am also getting the 'tux' picture as I boot my system (when I selected "Use Splash Screen Image"). But Im pretty sure that is not the problem. Why cant it decompress? (this is the original jpeg stated in the help forum) _________________ "Another one bites the dust"
