I use jwm and xdm (old laptop), but can't get them to start on boot. I have my DISPLAYMANAGER in /etc/conf.d/xdm set to xdm, xdm added to the default runlevel, and XSESSION="jwm" in my /etc/rc.conf. The correct script is in /usr/bin/jwm and /etc/X11/Sessions/jwm.
When i boot, it goes through the normal motions in the console, then it gets to 'Setting up xdm', the screen goes blank, the X start thing with the X for a cursor comes up briefly, then it goes back to console.
Any ideas? |

As an aside, the keymap when using the terminal in jwm (us) isn't the same as I set in /etc/conf.d/keymaps (uk), and i can't find anything in the jwm docs or anywhere else about it. |

Slightly easier size, that one. Looking at it it does seem that there's an error on the last line, but i have no idea what it is

FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing. |
EDIT: thinking about it, that looks like a very similar error to the one i get trying to use mplayer. Is this shady libexpat.so.0 character likely to be the culprit? |

Yes, it is. You've hit the libexpat update; enjoy the sticky. _________________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |
