Ok, I've poked around and I think I understand why I'm getting the "no shadow entry" messages when I exit Kuser. It's because there's no pw entry in the shadow file right? And gentoo does this so that all these various users won't show as able to log in to the box. (or something to that effect)

I also think you can keep these users from being able to log in by setting their shell to something like /bin/false right?

So my question is this - how do I get rid of all those annoying messages when I exit Kuser, can I just set a pw for every user who doesn't have one, and then set their shell to /bin/false or will that royally hose my system??

I'm still learning, so don't hurt me....

Someone had the same problem and I could never figure out how to disable the error. I guess you could make in entry in /etc/shadow. I personally don't use Kuser since I prefer the console when doing administrative fuctions. :)
