System reboots during emerge sync

Has any one a solution for this? when running "emerge sync" on 1.4rc4 my system reboots.

Asus A7N8X delux (rev2) 1 gig memory
Amd 2800 barton core

hmm this could be a lot of different things. you didn't say if it does the same if you do something like:

emerge package

or is it just for emerge sync. if it is for emerge sync you might want to check your IRQ's for net card since network gets used quite a bit during emerge sync also try replacing your memory, might be a bad stick of ram, trade with a buddy for few days and test out if his/her memory works for you.

Also if it is rebooting when you do emerge package then check for cooling since when you compile stuff your cpu goes to 100% and naturaly the heat goes up.

anyways just few ideas you could give a try.
