My sound has just recently stopped working. I have no idea what is wrong with it or even where to look. My computer is running gentoo x86.
After I reboot sound will work for maybe 30 seconds and then stop.
I have been testing this with out X running so there are less things running that could cause problems.
Also mplayer kinda freezes after the sound has stopped doesn't move forward in the track it is playing.
I really hope that someone can help as this is a big problem for me. _________________ AMD64

Okay I have tried recompiling my kernel, and the sound worked for a couple of hours before it gave out this time. I really wish I knew what was going on. I'm going to look more closely at the ALSA guides and try again. _________________ AMD64

I know what you are going thru.
check dmesg for clues.
Make sure you are runnng a stable system with the good use flags like alsa.
check lspci again and see if you are using the correct kernel module.
Check that the KDE sound system is set to ALSA. _________________ Donate to Gentoo |
