Hello,

does anybody know which programm handles the Meta-Info (such as for *.ogg) in konqueror.
As root I can see the infos in the tooltip and can edit the tag in the filepreferences.
As user I can not...

Hi,

I finally solved the problem.
Metainfos are handled by the KFilePlugin.
All its known Metatypes are saved in KDEDIR/share/services/kfile_$filetype.desktop

As usual HOME-Files overide KDEDIR-Files...
In my ~/.kde/share/services/ there were corrupted kfile*.desktop files (such as kfile_mp3.desktop, kfile_ogg.desktop).
I just deleted them and it works fine now.

Check if metainfo is turned on in control center.
KDE Components->File Manager->Previews&Metadata
The local protocol "file" has to be checked

You have to have the appropriate KFile plugin installed in order to be able to access a file's metadata in konqueror:

http://developer.kde.org/documentation/tutorials/kfile-plugin/t1.html

Greetings,
Pesche.
