I have Debian installed on my MythTV box, and I had a terrible time getting ALSA working properly; I'm still not sure it is 100%. When I installed Gentoo on my workstation I put off trying to get ALSA working. As it turns out, installing ALSA under Gentoo was surprisingly painless. Just follow the Gentoo Linux ALSA Guide and you shouldn't have any problems. |

Need to search and make a separate post for each of those problems.
