But, I get a segmentation fault anytime I try and run it...

Hmmmm...

Anyone else seeing this problem?

:Nevermind, it only dies when I run it as root... Maybe something in my root environment....

Its a pretty common occurence on gentoo. Ive re-emerged it before and fixed the problem, but no good this time. So, I just emrged vim instead.

My NWN server is still segfaulting.. Ran an strace on it though, looks like it's bombing while loading some of the datafiles off the cd. Might have gotten some corruption in there while transferring it over..

VI seg faults if you don't have your term set to vt220.

Good thing that NWN server is out for linux, but I was expecting the client first.. Guess we'll have to wait a bit longer then.

Anyone had any luck getting their server to show up on Gamespy? I can connect to it from my subnet, but can't connect from my external ip. I opened the 200+ firewall ports the server demanded, but am still not having any luck...

You were expecting to see the client first? Not a chance in hell... remember, there's been a dedicated Half-Life Linux server for ages, and no sign of development for a native client.

IIRC, the Linux client will require the Windows version to be installed. I don't have Windows installed, nor do I plan to install it... just speculating: Do you think installing nwn with wine[x] and then pointing (a-la-q3point-release) the Linux client to wherever wine[x] installed it would work, or would the deal require some more hacking?
