[solved] pb choosing a new consolefont

hello, i'm new gentoo user since yersterday.
i've a little anoyance whith the consolfont.
first i think my framebuffer is ok because i use the gentoo-sources kernel and i've a nice splachscreen in the grub menu.
then i wanted to set the consolefonts to lat1-16 but it doesent work.
i can set the console font from default8x16 to defqult8x9.
but i can't set it to any other fonts that are in /usr/share/consolefonts

in all the doc i've read they said it should work..
can you help me please?

Use 'setfont' which is part of 'sys-apps/kbd' ...

thank you, i should have precise setfont does exactly the same thing:
as long as a choose an other font as default, i get the default9x16 font instead of the choosen one.
if the font doesn't exist i get an error message of course, and if the font exist i get default9x16
setfont just accept to set default8x9 font

thank you again...
the thing is i get an error message when i choose in purpose a inexistant font, the messsge is like font foo doensn't exist.
but when a choose an existing font i get no error message but the default font instead of the font i wanted

ok it was my fault, i misunderstood the lat1-16 font, i thought it was the one used on the livecd, but it wasn't
and lat1-16 is really similar to the default police
