Hi all,
I have KDE+ALSA working on my Gentoo, but I have an strange problem: first time I log in as a normal user, I get an error message "Can't open /dev/dsp (permission denied)". Then, I log out and in again, and everything works ok!
This happens every first login after a boot... Is my computer crazy, or is it me??!! _________________ Registered Linux user #184323. "The software said Windows95 or better, so I got a Gentoo..." |

Just search on /dev/dsp in these forums, for it seems there are many potential solutions. |

Make sure your kernel modules are loaded at boot. i.e. in the appropriate modules.autoload.d file. |
