Radeon M7 + 2.5.72 = no more XVideo support

Hi all,

I upgraded to 2.5.72 (development-sources) from 2.4.20 (gentoo-sources) and suddenly I have no working XVideo support! Everything worked with 2.4.20. This is on a Dell Inspiron 4150 (P4 2ghz, 512 meg RAM, ATI Radeon M7 card).

mplayer, kino, gst-player and xine all show a solid blue window in 16bpp, and a solid black window in 24bpp. I have DRI working (glxinfo reports direct rendering: yes).

xdpyinfo shows the XVideo extension loaded.

xvinfo looks right too:
