bcm43xx firmware issue

Running 2007.0 with 2.6.23.12; when trying to extract my firmware for the bcm43xx driver into /lib/firmware I get this error:

[nowhereman]

I had the same problem and just found a solution:
download the file from a different location,
for example: http://joona.kuori.org/ubuntu-powerbook/wl_apsta.o
at least I could extract it,
we'll see whether it works
