How to update config files in '/etc' after 'emerge portage'?

I was following GentooLinux x86 Handbook, and came to the point 6.b. "Configuring Portage".
After I made "emerge --sync" I have been informed that I have to update Portage. After I made "emerge portage" I got following message "IMPORTANT: 4 config file in '/etc' need updating".
Can anyone please instruct me what exactly to do next? Thanks.
