gnome sounds [SOLVED]

problem is that i cant play system sounds, alsa works fine, xine, audacious plays perfect, but i cant hear the gnome system sounds when i press play in the next screenshot..

Gnome needs a sound daemon to play systems sounds.

i solved the problem , but partially because i had to built a new kernel with the alsa driver and not as a module.
