|
|
I'm running ~Gentoo x86_64 and want to connect to my Psion Series5. The only app in portage, plptools, isn't available but I came across this java based app which seems better.
http://www.littlespikeyland.com/psionlink/
The only snag is that the instructions are in German!
Can anyone explain how to install this app, I have java installed but don't understand what else I'm supposed to install with regards to the link javax.comm. I've downloaded the package comm3.0_u1_linux.zip but don't know where to go from here.
Anyone out there who can help? |

when you install javax.comm copy files form its dir to java lib dir as in example:
javax.comm.properties:
von /opt/IBM-Java2-141/jre/lib nach /usr/java/j2re.1.4.1_03/lib
comm.jar:
von /opt/IBM-Java2-141/jre/lib/ext nach /usr/java/j2re.1.4.1_03/lib/ext
libibmcomm.so:
von /opt/IBM-Java2-141/jre/bin nach /usr/java/j2re.1.4.1_03/lib/ext
von/nach -> from/to.
with mandrake javax.comm is installed in /opt dir and java in /usr/java.
now you need file jpl2alpha2.0.1.jar and you can place it anywhere. start java psion link with java -jar /home/frank/jpl2alpha.2.0.1.jar. |
