I am running acpi on 2.6.12-suspend2-r6 kernel on an IBM thinkpad T22.
I have an ultrabay battery but it appears as if it is ignored. It always stays charged while the other battery drains down. xfce panel has a battery monitor, but it only shows one battery.

I have ibm-acpi on in the kernel which prevents me from using ibm-acpi and suspend2 prevents laptop-tools

How do I configure/administer the second battery
Code:

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present:                           yes
capacity state                    ok
chargeing state               charged
present rate                         0mW
remaining capacity         39090mWh
present voltage              12436 mv

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state
present:                           yes
capacity state                    ok
chargeing state               charging
present rate                     6799 mW
remaining capacity         24920 mWh
present voltage              12522 mv

do I have to "mount" the device?
Is there a dual battery monitor?

acpid 1.0.6-r1 stable
acpitool 0.4.7-r1 stable
bbacpi 0.1.5 stable
configure-thinkpad 0.8 testing
thinkpad 5.9-r1 stable
tp_smapi 0.31 stable - will be install 0.32 testing
tpb 0.6.4 stable
tpctl 4.17 stable
gentoo-sources 2.6.22-r8 - will be updated today

You will find kthinkpad on: https://lepetitfou.dyndns.org/projects/kthinkbat/wiki
For the rset you have thinkwiki: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkWiki
