my laptop has an onboard usb rtl8187b wireless adapter, which is unfortunately only supported by ndiswrapper. it seems that since i tried to upgrade to 1.50, and subsequently 1.51, that when i attempt to bring the interface up with iwconfig, dhcpcd times out. i always end up having to go back to 1.47, which is a pain since that means each time i change my kernel, i have to edit the kmem_cache_create call that broke in kernel 2.6.23 and recompile it manually.
is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone know why it's happening? |

slaufer,
There was a major change to the kernel wireless networking at 2.6.23. Many wireless drivers were added.
I have not checked 2.6.23 but your RTL8187 support is in the 2.6.24-rc series.
Maybe you want to try the testing vanillia-sources. _________________ Regards,
