Hello, I have a question about this directory (/usr/local/sbin) not /usr/sbin

I accidentally deleted all contents in that folder, and wanted to know if there is anything in there by default?

I am using amd_64, and just a vanilla CLI install of gentoo (latest). I don't want to reboot my system if there were important applications in that directory, otherwise I think I should be ok.

If there are programs in there by default, is there a way to restore that folder easily?

Thanks in advanced for the help.

typically /usr/local/bin/ and /usr/local/sbin/ don't have anything in them. They're there, mostly, as a place for you to put your own scripts and programs so as to keep them separate from the main executables. So, if you didn't put anything in there yourself, then there probably wasn't anything there to begin with.

I have a full blown KDE install, and /usr/local/sbin is still empty... well it has a .keep in it.

some games, and most stuff you install by hand gets installed in /usr/local. so if you have installed a package that requires root access by hand, its executable might ended up there in.

cheers
V.

Perfect, thanks folks! :)

I assumed it would have been empty, but I was worried that there could have been some system scripts in there. Thanks again!

yeah, the bin/sbin at / are for core stuff, the ones in /usr are for extra programs and the ones at /usr/local are for stuff made specifically for the computer in question.
