hi!
I've successfuly screwed up my system, so cron can't start no more The scenario here was that i've installed sysklogd at installing time, and later replaced sysklogd with metalog. The resoult now is (when i want to start vcron):
Code: | root@tortica root # /etc/init.d/vcron start
* Starting syslogd, klogd...
start-stop-daemon: stat /usr/sbin/syslogd: No such file or directory
start-stop-daemon: stat /usr/sbin/klogd: No such file or directory
* Failed to start syslogd, klogd [ !! ]
* ERROR: Problem starting needed services.
* "vcron" was not started.

Now what? Can't really find a way out of this _________________ Beat your dick like it owes you money |

Hi z3ky.
It's possible that your rc-script dependency cache is not up to date. To refresh the cache you need to make sure that /etc/init.d/sysklogd no longer exists, and you also need to run /sbin/depscan.sh
I hope this helps.
