Hi,

I'm looking for hardware raid controllers that support Hotswapping monitoring etc...

Can you tell me which RAID Controllers are suported and working well with gentoo-sources 2.6+?

Thanks a lot!

hi swell,

i'm using an ICP Vortex SATA-controller ( GDT8586RZ ) in a productive system.
it has good support and you can administrate via a linux textconsole, called icpcon.

very nice controller, dude =)

but ain't cheap, either.

cheers,
kitano

I'm using a megaraid Elite 1600 that I like. The newer Ultra 320 versions are basically the same thing only much faster, really fast in comparison. Both use the megamgr for management under Linux and drive status is available from either /proc or /sys depending on driver version.

This is of course SCSI related if you didn't catch the Ultra 320 reference above.

Hi!

I have the storcon console (intel equivalent), but can't access the card ("no controller found")
The gdth driver works well, and in /proc/scsi/gdth the status is also present.

I think there is something wrong in my kernel config.

My kernel config is here at pastebin:
http://pastebin.com/m4e38f3ac

Any advice for this?
