After consulting the handbok section http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=4&chap=2#doc_chap2 it seems as if even tough I have the RC_NET_STRICT_CHECKING set to no net is still not up when net.eth1 has started. I don't know why this is. I'm using the bcm43xx driver for my network card.
Anyone that knows why net is not seen as started altough of this.? _________________ From Gentoo with love |

Anyway, i've tried to use the BCM43xx driver and came to the conclusion it doesn't work. I mean i've successed to make it run but the performances wre very bad and the connection was lost a lot of time. I've finished by using the NDISWRAPPER utility with the windows driver. It's much better and stable.
I advice you to use ndiswrapper. |

Hi.
If you have RC_NET_STRICT_CHECKING="no" in /etc/conf.d/rc are you sure the net.eth1 is started on boot? Check the output of rc-update show | grep net. _________________ Jorge.
