After consulting the handbok section http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=4&chap=2#doc_chap2 it seems as if even tough I have the RC_NET_STRICT_CHECKING set to no net is still not up when net.eth1 has started. I don't know why this is. I'm using the bcm43xx driver for my network card.

Anyone that knows why net is not seen as started altough of this.?

8O Anyway, i've tried to use the BCM43xx driver and came to the conclusion it doesn't work. I mean i've successed to make it run but the performances wre very bad and the connection was lost a lot of time. I've finished by using the NDISWRAPPER utility with the windows driver. It's much better and stable.

I advice you to use ndiswrapper. :)

Hi.

If you have RC_NET_STRICT_CHECKING="no" in /etc/conf.d/rc are you sure the net.eth1 is started on boot? Check the output of rc-update show | grep net.
