|
|
Ive got a cable modem connection which gives me the same IP address for all the time im connected.
Ive got apache to start in the default runlevel.
I therefore added ddclient --force to /etc/conf.d/local.start , to make it
once the server has started up i havent got access to apache virtualhosts until I restart the apache server, after ddclient --force.
Any explanation for this ?
is it expected behaviour ?
a definitive solution ? _________________ join the optout - http://nhsconfidentiality.org

Run ddclient as a service (i.e. not in local.start), and run apache *after* ddclient. |

the issue with running ddclient as a service is the update interval - do put it for 'just ' 24 hours ?
but the other thing is why does it happen. AFAIK the IP address that is picked up when it starts often doesnt chagne, yet virtual hosts dont work _________________ join the optout - http://nhsconfidentiality.org |
