Hi

Iam trying to setup a terminal server on my machine. I have another gentoo client, but it is too old for a full KDE-Install.
I have changed enable to true (kdmrc), port is set to default value. The accessfile has a * to allow all hosts

The client seems to connect, but shows the X with a black screen. Have I missed some other option?
I have also tried XDM but ist the same

I have also tried

Code:

localhost ~ # netstat -ap | grep xdmcp
udp        0      0 *:xdmcp                 *:*                                 6269/kdm

which shows that the server should be up

btw:
1) the server seems to respond locally,
2) and a remote kdm shows the host, but has the blackscreen which is not there when connected by localhost

I had the same problem. Opening the ports 177 and the port range 6000:6008 on the firewall for both TCP and UDP protocols solved the problem. Mind that all 4 conditions must be met!
