I am trying to install compiz-fusion. I have neither KDE nor Gnome installed.
After having configured nVidia according to http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_nVidia_GL_Desktop_Effects and installed Compiz-fuzion according to http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_compiz-fusion, I tried to start it using XDM and compiz-start.
Login screen comes up fine, I can login and then a completely blank dark brown screen comes with a cursor which can be moved by a mouse but gives no right- or left-click menu.
I searched for errors in log files, but could not find any. So it seems to me that Compiz starts fine but is misconfigured.
I tried to configure it through ccsm and by executing Code: | gconftool-2 -s /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins "[gconf,decoration,wobbly,fade,minimize,cube,switcher,move,resize,place,rotate,zoom,scale]" -t list --list-type=string |
I tried using it with gtk-window-decorator and with emerald.
I tried to have compiz started as
Code: | compiz --replace gconf |
as
Code: | compiz --replace gconf,decoration,wobbly,fade,minimize,cube,switcher,move,resize,place,rotate,zoom,scale & |
as
Code: | compiz --replace decoration,wobbly,fade,minimize,cube,switcher,move,resize,place,rotate,zoom,scale & |
and as
Code: | compiz --replace ccp --sm-disable & |
but always with the same result - an empty screen.
Any suggestions?
Thank you! |
