I'm running the 2.5 development Linux kernel, most of the time quite happily. Now it started to panic on me, and I want to save the output of the panic to a file.

But how? A search on google mentions special patches or using data from the swap, but I can't find a clear answer. How do I get the output of a kernel panic on a frozen system to a file? (Without writing it down by hand..)
