Hi,
I build my own liveCD based on http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_build_a_LiveCD_from_scratch .
All works fine except for the missing directory "/media" which is needed by the gnome-volume-manager (e.g. to mount an usb-memory stick).
Where is the best place for a command whichs creates this directory?
GDM is also missing "/var/log/gdm"...
So I think using "local.start" is not the best choice.
Thanks for hints. |

Why/how was it removed in the first place?
It should be installed by hal, which I'm fairly sure gnome-volume-manager would require...
Anyway, I've made a few changes to the initscripts, including creating some directories at boot (needed to put /var/run on tmpfs), and I think /etc/init.d/bootmisc is the most suitable script for such commands. _________________ "You have to invite me in" |

On my hdd, where I prepare the filesystem it is there and in the "livecd.squashfs" too. But I think the "linuxrc" is creating the directories in "/" and does not create "/media".
Ok, I will add it to "bootmisc".
thanks. |
