can I make mozilla start up sylpheed or any other mail client when I click on mailto: addresses?

I've read a bunch of other threads on this and there doesn't appear to be an answer for people using Linux.

For those using Mac or Win you can add this line to your prefs.js file and it will use your system default mail handler, in Linux it will make mailto's do nothing:
user_pref("network.protocol-hander.external.mailto", true);

Been poking around this question for a while myself, anyone made any progress on changing mozilla's default mail to sylpheed(-claws) ?
