Hello,
I've installed the iwlwifi drivers for my ipw3945 in my Thinkpad T61, and I can modprobe ipw3945 alright. Problem is, iwconfig doesn't see any hardware with wireless extensions! I've got eth0, lo, and sit0. Any ideas?

| Take a look at dmesg to see if any there were any errors when you loaded the module. |

It seems you don't use the good module... iwlwifi creates the iwl3945 module, not ipw3945...
You can use the ipw3945 packages OR iwlwifi. I suggest iwlwifi the second one, as it is meant to be a replacement for ipw3945.
What happens if you modprobe iwl3945 ? You should get interfaces such as wmaster0 and wlan0. |

That did it! iwl3945 is the way to go.
