hi, i just installed et and i have very very low fps even at 1024x768.. I get like 7 fps.. i have a radeon 7500 vid card / p4 2.4ghz / 512mb ram


btw. i get 1150 with glxgears and counterstrike runs great on my system with winex

well.. i don't think there is anything wrong.. i just think your radeon 7500 is a bottleneck. the half-life engine and quake3 engine are two completely different engines (with half-life being much older) so even though counter-strike can run fine, enemy territory wont... i'd suggest lowering the resolution and color depth

Try changing the color depth. I know this game runs well with a 32mb 7200 at 16bit.

Many people have problems with et.
I have an gf2mx and a p3-900 and play it at 640-480 16 on everything including z-buffer, r_lodbias 2, lowest texture quality, need i to keep on going? :)

try and set /max_fps x, where x is a number.... took me a while to figure this out with quake3, works the same with et, i get about 100 fps easily at 1280x1024x32, nvidia FX5600, 256mb ddr333, xp2700, except make sure nothing emerging in background :P

im not real sure about ati cards, but check your bios too for fast writes and try enabling it
