Hey, so I tried out Yellowdog and decided it wasn't for me, and wanted to install Gentoo on my PS3. However, once it gets to the livecd bash shell, the text is flickering uncontrollably. It's the first time this has ever happened to me on any hardware. I'm using a 20" Sceptre LCD monitor, and my PS3 is connected to it via DVI + DVI fem. - HDMI male adapter. So the flickering worried me, I rebooted into the PS3 OS, and it was flickering really badly as well. I tried plugging in the DVI to my PC, I tried using VGA, and the monitor was still flickering (not the livecd prompt, I can only do that with the adapter + DVI cable). The flickering seems to calm down over time, but it takes a while - half an hour or so before it's pretty much gone. I want to install Gentoo, but I'm worried it may damage my monitor. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Did you choose safe resolution when booting the cd? Sounds like a hw problem to me... _________________ -->
