Hi, all...
I'm in search of a relatively simple 10-key calculator to run on my gentoo desktop. Is anyone aware of one available in portage?
Thanks! _________________ "Primum non nocere" ---Galen |

Not quite what I would like. I'm seeking software that would resemble the functionality of a 10-key adding machine with "tape" output of the entered numbers, each followed by its operand, and the "Total" obtained when all entries have been made... _________________ "Primum non nocere" ---Galen |

You can see the history of your calculations when using bc
It's command line and is already installed on your machine... but it does take a bit of reading the man pages for setting precision, etc. _________________ Gentoo is the stick-shift of Linux.
You work it manually, it has somewhat better performance, but it's really for the fun of it. |

You could check out qalculate-gtk/kde, which is very slick
but given your description probably also doesn't really
fit the bill. |

I checked out qalculate-kde...
It is very impressive, and I'll likely go with it. The immense variety of options will more than compensate for a lack of the single feature I'm seeking.
Thanks for suggesting it! _________________ "Primum non nocere" ---Galen |
