Okay... here goes... I'm not sure what I did wrong here, but I got everything installed, I can boot to my new kernel, and everything that way seems to be working, however I'm getting the following error on boot:

* Starting devfsd [ok]
Started device management daemon v1.3.25 for /dev
Adding Swap: 899600k swap-space (priority -1)
* Remounting root filesystem read-only (if necessary)... [ok]
* Checking root filesystem...
fsck 1.33 (21-Apr-2003)
fsck: fsck.xfs: not found
fsck: Error 2 while executing fsck.xfs for /dev/hda5 [ok]
* Remounting root filesystem read/write... [ok]
* Setting hostname to nunya.business... [ok]
* Calculating module dependencies... [ok]
* Using /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4:

* Checking all filesystems...
fsck 1.33 (21-Apr-2003)
/dev/hda5 is mounted. e2fsck: Cannot continue, aborting.

* Fsck could not correct all errors, manual repair needed [!!]

Does anyone have any clue as to what I may have screwed up here? I'm totally at a loss. :oops: I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks!

I don't use XFS, but I believe you need the XFS Filesystem progs.

Code:
emerge xfsprogs

Thanks! I got the xfs problem resolved by emerging the xfsprogs package... that part's taken care of... however I'm still getting the nasty error about /dev/hda5 already being mounted... and I'm still trying to figure out why my cpu fan isn't working... hmmm... kernel... apm... recompiling... ick. 8O
