Is there a way to make a bootable CD using miBoot for oldworld machines?
I have a PMac 6500/300 and I wouldn't mind having one in case if something happens. |

I've never gotten it working with newer (2.6+) kernels, but if you have suggestions, I'd be happy to look into it. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

I'm using it with 2.6.23-r5 on mine. It works quite well.
I'd just like to build an install CD so I can pop it in and fire it up. |

In that case, as far as I know, you just need a Mac formatted disk image, miboot works by pretending to be a MacOS system folder. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

What about putting miBoot on a tiny HFS area on the CD and filling the rest with Gentoo?
I'll give this a try... |
