Hi all!
I just dug up an old scanner and plugged it in. I emerged sane-backends, sane-frontends and xsane. sane-find-scanner finds the scanner:
Quote:
sane-find-scanner -q
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9, product=0x220e, chip=LM983x?) at libusb:002:003
.
I read something in a howto about installing plustek, but I didn't figure out if I needed it or if it already was include in sane-backends, so I didn't install it.
Now when I start xsane he shows the right scanner name in the window title, but if I tell him to start scanning the scanner makes funny noises, who let me think my scanner is broken, and the scanner waggon doesn't move. Under windows the scanner works just fine.
Whatta do?

Got the same problem with my Scanner here. It sometimes works, but only when the resolution is small enough.

I didn't find a solution for this problem yet - still have to use Windows for scanning. :?
